In 2014, the world lost Rob Nanninga.

For me, an extraordinary journey began.

Living in Davis, California, I gradually discovered what I came to call “Another Davis” — a mysterious parallel world where love, memory, and the boundaries between life and death seemed to take on a different meaning.

Rob

Rob Nanninga was a Dutch skeptic, writer, and editor-in-chief of Skepter, the magazine of the Dutch skeptical organization Skepsis. He was known for his sharp mind, integrity, and lifelong commitment to critical inquiry.

To me, Rob became far more than a public figure. After his death in 2014, his presence remained central to an extraordinary journey that eventually led me to what I call Another Davis.

The Lions

Each lion represents a different facet of Rob Nanninga’s personality.

Together, they form a living bridge that allows me to experience Rob’s continuing presence. Through the lions, connection becomes tangible and different aspects of his personality reveal themselves in everyday life.

The Book

In Davis, California, I discovered a parallel world I call Another Davis. Here, in this magical and mysterious dimension, Rob continues to live, and we share a transcendent bond symbolized by the lion — Rob’s totem. My inner crew of plush lions forms the bridge between our worlds.

This book is a testament to that unique connection. It explores the power of the soul, the mystery of the multiverse, and a bond that transcends the boundaries of earthly existence.
